The Board of Directors is the unit of authority within the District. Apart from his/her normal function as a part of this unit, Directors have no individual authority. As individuals, Directors may not commit the District to any policy, act, expenditure, or give individual direction to the Fire Chief or District employees. Directors do not represent any fractional segment of the community, but are rather, a part of the body, which represents and acts for the community as a whole.
The policy of the Fire District Board recognizes that one of its major functions is to serve as the policy-making body of the Fire District, and to govern the activities and shape the future of the Fire District. At the same time, the Board preserves for the Fire Chief and the professional staff the responsibility of the day-to-day administration and operations of the District in a manner consistent with the policies and rules of the Board of Directors.
I moved to Lake County in 1994 from the Bay Area. My great grandparents built a house in Jago Bay in 1945 and I frequently came to visit. I started my career with Piedmont Lumber in 1998. Working at Kelseyville Lumber has allowed me to gain a keen insight into the local community's thoughts about fires in general. Being employed by Kelseyville Lumber has given me an opportunity to build relationships with the district. I would like to continue to support the district and it's employees by achieving goals and its continued efforts to be progressive in the fire service while keeping the public's safety a priority.
I started my career with the Kelseyville Fire Protection District in 1980 as District Secretary to the Chief and Dispatcher for the District. Over the years I became an EMT , the Public Education Officer, Executive Secretary , Fire Prevention Officer and District Book-Keeper. I retired from the District in 2017. My husband and I have raised 4 children, all who graduated from Kelseyville High School. I am a recently retired pear farmer and have ties in the farming and business community. I like being a part of he progression of the Fire District.
I have been active in Kelseyville Little League over the years. I have also been an officiator for 29 years for all of Lake County sports. I am looking forward to my time as a Director for the District.
